When international real estate investor, developer and operator Greystar drew up plans for a unique urban living concept in the prestigious 110-metre-high residential tower on the Danube, Blom’s name quickly came up.

“We work with progressive project developers on a regular basis. For example, we have already furnished over 2,000 innovative apartments for Greystar in the OurDomain Amsterdam Southeast and OurCampus and OurDomain Amsterdam Diemen residential complexes. OurDomain Amsterdam Southeast has won several international awards, including the Best Blended Living award 2021”, Mr. Blom notes. As such, Blom Interieurs has demonstrated its ability to realise innovative interior concepts on a grand scale.

After Berlin, Vienna is the largest German-speaking city with one of the fastest growing populations in the EU. With almost 200,000 students, the city is home to the third largest student population in Europe, which brings its own challenges to the housing market. Due to the many expats and students, finding housing here is quite a challenge.

“This is the situation in many European cities at the moment,” Jan Blom says. ‘Large cities are struggling with growing population numbers. Often the city is already quite full and space has to be used sparingly. That opens the door for innovative and creative living concepts.

Urban-living Concept

The Urban-living concept developed especially for this residential tower, with an area of 20,000 m2, offers innovative solutions to the housing challenge in Austria’s largest city. The implementation of Greystar’s internationally proven residential concept in the DCIII residential tower in Vienna marks the further roll-out of the residential concept aimed at young people for compact and community-oriented living, which includes services and facilities.

Turn-key interior

The Vienna apartments are fitted out ‘fully furnished’. “What makes Blom unique is that we can take the burden off clients and future residents by delivering turnkey interiors.
